Andover, CT (December 22, 2021) – Connecticut State Police officers are investigating a serious collision that happened on Route 6 in Andover, leaving one dead and another injured on Wednesday morning, December 22.
The crash reportedly occurred around 11:15 a.m. According to police, one driver was traveling eastbound on Route 6 near the Route 87 intersection in Andover, while another driver was traveling westbound on Route 6 and approaching that intersection.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveling westbound veered into the eastbound lane while negotiating the curved roadway and hit the other car head-on.
The driver of that car, identified only as an adult male, sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other vehicle’s driver sustained moderate injuries and was also taken to an area medical center, where they remain in stable condition.
The wreck remains under investigation, though any witnesses are asked to contact Connecticut State Police Troop K in Colchester.
