Waterbury, CT (January 24, 2022) – A pedestrian was hit and killed in Waterbury on Wednesday morning, January 26.
Per reports from officers with the Waterbury Police Department, a 68-year-old man was struck by a box truck at the intersection of East Main Street and North Elm Street just after 9:30 a.m.
The victim, who has yet to be identified, was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance, though he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the WPD.
