New Haven, CT (February 8, 2022) – The New Haven Police Department’s accident reconstruction team is investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred Monday morning, February 7.
Three vehicles were involved in the incident, which happened around 6:00 a.m. on Sherman Parkway between West Ivy Street and Willis Street.
The occupant of one vehicle was able to get out unassisted, and fire crews helped pull a woman from a second vehicle, a white Acura, according to Assistant Chief McCarthy.
A third person, a pregnant woman, remained trapped in the Acura, requiring crews to use hydraulic tools to remove the doors from the vehicle and rescue her safely, McCarthy added. The woman was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still piecing together the events leading up to the crash and have not provided further details.
