Plainville, CT (March 23, 2022) – A serious car crash reportedly caused by a wrong-way driver closed down the westbound side of Interstate 84 for hours on Wednesday afternoon, March 23.
According to reports released by Connecticut State Police, troopers from Troop H were dispatched to the area of Exit 33 around 2:00 p.m. Police say entrapment and serious injuries occurred, with Plainville firefighters and medics also responding to free victims. At least one person was transported to an area hospital, but their current condition is unknown.
Per the Department of Transportation, the westbound side of I-84 reopened around 5:30 p.m., though the investigation into the wreck remains ongoing.
