Shelton, CT (March 6, 2022) –At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, March, fire crews and Shelton Police Department officers were dispatched to Leavenworth Road for a reported head-on collision.
Authorities say the incident had been called in by a firefighter already at Leavenworth, close to its intersection with Indian Well Road. Companies arriving on the scene discovered a two-vehicle accident, with one person trapped in each vehicle.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage, and firefighters had to extricate both victims from their respective cars.
Once the victims were freed, medics transported them to local hospitals, one with serious injuries. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time, and the Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team will oversee the investigation.
