Bridgeport, CT (November 5, 2021) – Firefighters with the Bridgeport Fire Department say that a man rescued five victims from a serious apartment complex fire on Friday morning, November 5.
The man rescued three women and two children from the burning apartment building at 1130 Williams Street around 11:00 a.m. The man told authorities he was working on a roof of a house across the street when he witnessed the fire break out.
Officials say there were seven total victims rescued, and all suffered injuries. EMS transported the victims to an area medical center, where they remain in stable condition. Initial reports indicate that the fire apparently started on the second floor of the building.
Firefighters had the blaze under control around 12: 40 p.m. Their investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
