Bristol, CT – Man Dead in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on Rte 13 at Penn Tpk

Bristol, CT (November 2, 2021) – Officers with the New Haven Police Department, in conjunction with Bristol Township authorities, said that a 50-year-old bicyclist died in a hit-and-run crash on Monday, November 1.

The crash reportedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Route 13’s westbound exit ramp near the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to authorities.

A dark-colored car exiting the turnpike and merging onto Route 13 hit and killed the bicyclist, officers say. EMS units attempted life-saving measures on the man but pronounced him dead at the scene. Details on his identity or the circumstances surrounding the wreck have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation at this time. However, police asked any witnesses to contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division or officers in Bristol.
