Fairfield, CT (March 31, 2022) – Officers with the Fairfield Police Department say that a person was hit and killed by a Metro-North train on Wednesday afternoon, March 30.
Police were dispatched to the area of Commerce Drive near the Fairfield Metro station around 3:45 p.m. Medics also responded, but the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Trains in the area were being delayed due to the accident, according to Metro-North. No additional information has been provided, however, and officers are still investigating the details surrounding the incident. Police are asking anyone with information to call the FPD Tip Line.
