Farmington, CT – Woman Dies in I-84 Rollover Crash at Ex 39

Farmington, CT (December 13, 2021) – A 25-year-old Hartford woman died after a major rollover crash occurred on Interstate 84 on Sunday evening, December 12, according to state police. The woman was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by another 25-year-old woman, of New Britain, in the left lane of Interstate 84 westbound near exit 39. Around 7:00 p.m., the driver lost control of her vehicle for an unknown reason and sideswiped a 60-year-old New York man traveling in the center lane, police said. After sideswiping the other driver, the woman crashed through a metal beam guide rail near the paved median. The vehicle then rolled over as it traveled across the grass median. Neither the driver nor the passenger in the sideswiped vehicle suffered injuries, officers said. The driver of the first car was transported to the hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries. The 25-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and was rushed to an area medical center, where she died from her injuries. The crash remains under investigation at this time, and further details have not been provided.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim. Our thoughts are with the injured victim in hopes of a full recovery.

Fatal Auto Accidents in Connecticut

Stamford, CT - Stamford PD Report Injury Auto Accident on I-95 at Greenwich AveAccording to Connecticut officials, the number of people killed on roadways statewide in 2020 alone was at its highest since 2016.
