Haddam, CT (March 9, 2022) – One person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision took place on Monday evening, March 7, in the Haddam area, according to fire officials.
Crews with the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to Saybrook Road near Jail Hill Road around 6:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, officials discovered two vehicles had crashed close to the intersection, causing one of the drivers to be trapped.
The other driver was evaluated by medics at the scene and refused additional medical treatment. Firefighters and medics helped extricate the trapped driver, and EMTs transported them to Middlesex Hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries.
Saybrook Road was closed for about an hour as a result of the crash. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time, however, and further details have not yet been provided.
