Hartford, CT (September 12, 2021) – Officers with the Hartford Police Department said that an evading vehicle caused a multi-car crash in the downtown area on Sunday evening, September 12.
Officials said the suspect’s car got off the highway and crashed into a glass bus stop enclosure and several other vehicles, including a motorcycle, in the area of Main Street and Pratt Street.
The driver also caused another accident that occurred at Market Street and Trumbull Street, authorities said.
Upon police arrival to the scene, they discovered a bystander had removed the suspect driver from his car. Officers then arrested the man.
Paramedics transported several victims to an area medical center in moderate condition.
The Hartford Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team, the detective division, and the patrol division are all investigating.
Police provided no further details about the victims involved and say their investigation continues at this time.
