Hartford, CT (September 27, 2021) – Hartford Police Department officers are seeking a person who allegedly crashed into a Walgreens store and hit a pedestrian in Vernon last week.
Officials say the incident happened on Thursday, September 23, at approximately 12:00 p.m. Rescue units were dispatched to the accident, which occurred at a Walgreens on Talcottville Road.
Authorities said initial reports indicated that a silver Ford Taurus, a 2001 to 2007 model, drove onto the sidewalk and then hit the store. They also struck a pedestrian before driving off at a high speed on Dart Hill Road.
The extent of the pedestrian’s injuries is unknown, though paramedics transported the victim to an area medical center.
The car was being driven by a man in his late sixties to seventies, police noted. There is no other description of the man involved, however.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the driver is asked to contact Officer Lagace with the HPD.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
