Motorcycle Accidents in Connecticut
Connecticut officials have stated that the number of people killed on in-state roadways in 2020 was at its apex since 2016. And per the Transportation Safety Research Center, speed is the leading cause of most of these fatal collisions, particularly when it comes to those involving motorcyclists.
Authorities with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated that motorcyclists are nearly 30 times more likely than passenger car occupants to die in a motor vehicle crash. In Connecticut, more than 50 motorcyclists die as a result of crashes each year. In fact, 2020 alone saw almost 60 fatalities as a result of motorcycle accidents.
Almost all of these Connecticut car crashes were preventable, despite the fact that deadly accident totals continue to surge year over year. And unfortunately, the victims of these incidents must endure tragic circumstances as a result.
Remember that you have options when it comes to your recovery. After you’ve sought medical attention for your injuries, reach out to an experienced attorney as soon as possible. Working with a reputable Connecticut accident attorney is essential in the wake of these incidents. Plus, consulting a lawyer after an accident can help you and your family move forward in the best possible position.
