Westport, CT (January 14, 2022) – A serious auto accident occurred on Interstate 95 on Friday evening, January 14, causing injuries to several victims.
EMS rushed at least one person to an area medical center after the wreck, which occurred on I-95, according to police.
Connecticut State Police said that troopers responded to the southbound lanes of the highway, close to Exit 17 and Saugatuck Avenue, for a reported wreck. Rescue units arrived at the area around 6:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered two cars that collided.
Most victims sustained minor injuries, with two people requiring further treatment at the hospital. Officials shut down several lanes of the highway to traffic for about two hours. The crash remains under investigation by police, however, and officers have not released further information at this time.
