Jonathan Perkins was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. He moved to England and graduated from high school before coming to the United States. He and his wife and children have lived in Connecticut for more than 25 years. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees as well as several bar association committees.

Jonathan received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1987. He graduated magna cum laude from Pace University with a B.A. in 1984.
