Mansfield, CT – UConn Student Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Crash on S Eagleville Rd

Mansfield, CT (November 30, 2021) – Connecticut State Police say an auto-pedestrian crash left a UConn researcher and graduate student dead on Tuesday evening, November 30.

The 28-year-old Tolland County resident was killed around 5:00 p.m. after he was struck while walking in the crosswalk on South Eagleville Road, said the CSP. A westbound 2008 Hyundai Elantra hit the man just west of Eastwood Road, state police said.

EMS units rushed the victim to Windham Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A 33-year-old woman from Colchester was driving the Hyundai. She was also transported to Windham Hospital for minor injuries.

No charges have been filed, though the case is currently being investigated by Trooper Mark Aldasch. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the CSP.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim.
