Stonington, CT (November 14, 2021) – A serious auto accident occurred on Route 2 on Sunday morning, November 14, causing serious injuries to several victims.
EMS rushed two people to an area medical center after the wreck involved multiple vehicles on Route 2, according to police.
Connecticut State Police said that troopers responded to the westbound lanes of the highway for a reported wreck involving a tractor-trailer around 8:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered one truck and two cars that collided. One of the vehicles also caught fire as a result of the incident.
Most victims sustained minor injuries, with two people requiring further treatment at the hospital. Officials shut down the highway to traffic for about two hours. The crash remains under investigation by police, however, and officers have not released further information at this time.
