Bridgeport, CT – Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Boston Ave at Remington St

Bridgeport, CT (March 15, 2022) – A Fairfield County woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning, March 3, in the Bridgeport area.

Around 3:00 a.m., Bridgeport Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of Boston Avenue and Remington Street. Witnesses on the scene told police that a woman driving a 2007 Black Volvo XC90 was stopped at a red light on Barnum Avenue when she was rear-ended by a silver-gray Honda Civic.

The Honda then backed up, hit a parked car, and passed the woman in the Volvo on the right, sideswiping her vehicle. The Honda fled the scene and began heading westbound on Boston Avenue, while the driver of the Volvo started following the Honda to get the suspect driver’s license plate information.

Shortly thereafter, the driver of the Honda hit a woman as she was attempting to cross Boston Avenue and dragged her about 200 feet down the westbound side of the roadway. The driver left the scene again, this time traveling towards East Main Street.

Despite life-saving measures attempted at the scene, medics pronounced the victim, a 40-year-old woman, dead.

The Bridgeport Serious Crash Team also arrived to investigate, though they did not give further information about the suspect driver or the driver of the Volvo.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with information about the fatal accident is asked to call Officer Thomas Gall Bronner.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased woman.
